Visiting the lands

Today It ends. I am now speing my last hours in Thailand and it is far to late for me to still be up seeing as I must wake again at four in the morning. It is now 11:30 at night. But seeing as I just drank two coffees, yes two, I doubt I will really sleep at all tonight. And I never drink coffee as a habit. It was kind of dumb on my part I know but, well now it's over.
So here in Thailand you can take a tuk tuk which is their version of the auto or rickshaw of India. But there is some form of public transport you can take here which you cannot take in India and that is the taxi bike. Yup, a motorbike or scooter type bike for hire. I took one this morning riding it as normal but tonight I rode it side saddle style as I had on a skirt. I have never ridden a bike that way though many do it in India. It was kind of scary, didn't feel like I was going to stay on so well. I was also carrying a large bag of diapers and some plastic cups.
There is a reason I have a bag of 44 diapers that I was carrying and it is not my own baby. I am doing a favor for my leaders back in India, they're cheaper here so I am taking them back to her.
Tonight we joined a group of Koreans that we know from back in India. We went to this major mall. It was supper high end. I would have to say higher class then any I have been in in Canada even. This place was over whelming for me. It felt as big as the Amsterdam airport. So much space on all sides I felt like a newborn out of the womb. (like any of us really could know what that must be like).
Well like I said tomorrow is an early morning. The frustrating thing is we are getting back to Bangalore via Cheni with a 24 hour stop there. I kind of just want to get "home". But what can you do but just travel.
I have learnt one thing here for sure. I am not a true tourist at heart. I have enjoyed my time in India alot more, even if I have not seen more then one city. There I feel a part of the country. I feel like I know how they work, how they function. Like I vaguely understand the culture. Here I feel like I know the culture of the traveler not the local.
I guessed right when I thought that two weeks would be too short. I like the longer stay with the work. Holiday is nice but it is not the same.
Well, for now, so long from Thailand. May you all be Blessed.
